We are currently facing a crucial question for our time: whether our form of democracy can survive. Come see, hear, and question Nancy MacLean, award-winning author and William H. Chafe Professor of History and Public Policy at Duke University, Nancy is the author of several award-winning books, most recently, Democracy in Chains: The Deep History of the Radical Right’s Stealth Plan for America, updated with a brand new preface that analyzes developments from 2017 to 2023!

We are honored to have as our guest speaker, Lana Danshyna from Ukrane. She will share with us her experience leaving Ukrane, traveling to Poland and then to Marblehead, overcoming many challenges. Please join us at the Abbot Library, 3 Brook Rd., Marblehead, from 6 to 8.

Deidre Robbins will speak about our rights through the lens of the Supreme Court. What is at Stake in 2024: The Rule of Law (our democracy).

What is at Stake in 2024: Our Democracy and to better understand the plans of the conservative right, we will review the major points of Project 2025 from The Heritage Fondation. This will be an all Zoom meeting.
